Highlands’ Hudson Library

The Hudson Library is home to over 20,000 volumes of fiction, nonfiction, bestsellers, children’s books, large-print books, reference materials and sources of regional and local interest.

Additionally, the library subscribes to nearly 80 magazines and newspapers for the information needs and reading pleasure of its patrons. Audio-visual materials include collections for all ages of over 800 videos and 650 books on tape and CD.

In addition to wireless internet, we have 5 Internet computers; 2 online catalog computers; and 2 computers for young users, one elementary and one intermediate (no Internet).

Books for children are located in a unique children’s area with puzzles, toys, and children’s magazines.

The Library provides weekly story times for pre-schoolers and a summer reading program. During the school year, story time is on Thursdays at 10:30 am. You are welcome to bring your child to story time.

Five pre-school groups attend story time during the school year: Highlands Head Start, Bright Discoveries, 2 from Highlands Child Development Center, and Methodist Preschool. When classes are full, we are likely to have over 65 children on Thursdays. There is no story time in May or August.

In case of inclement weather (rain/snow/ice), please contact the library to verify story time schedule.
