A few minutes from Highway 281 follow the orange blazes along the gravel path for approximately 20 minutes until you pass into the Nantahala National Forest. From there, follow the dirt trail for 15 minutes through a campground to Rainbow Falls & take the right fork for a 5 minute hike up to the cool waters, also called Umbrella Falls. In a close proximity to many more falls and the Gorges State Park it can be a great starting point for a day trip. There is a deep Chug hole so be careful!
